The supporter home away from home
During the Olympic Games, Holland Heineken House becomes a home away from home. For all Dutch athletes, fans, business and media, it is a meetingplace as well a testimonial of how much talent this small, yet grand country has to offer. The goal of the website is mainly informative, still activating visitors and consumers alike with a bit of Dutch pride and lots of event fun.
To design such a website, we thought of what it takes to produce such an event. First, we collected all the information that Heineken wanted to broadcast on the website. Most important parts: ticketing, news page, social feed, videos and line-up. Next, we had to define the correct and appealing lay-out, content and animations.
Before designing, we researched different festival websites, their content and call to actions. What is needed to trigger the public to participate and even buy tickets. Keeping it playful, pictures of previous events, swap fullscreen videos and especially written copy.
Designed using the "breaking the grid" trend, elements of the site could be activated when convenient. Always with content in mind, easy upload of current videos and pictures each day during the event is possible. Exploring visitors may return to the site every day during the event, to be surprised by the newest content.
